Our guide to wills and our fees.
A will confirms what you want to happen to your property and belongings when you pass away. It also appoints a person or people who you would like to administer your estate on your behalf.
There are many important decisions to make when making a will and we will offer you advice on any that apply to you. They range from making a non-binding request for who will care for any minor children to whether you wish to leave gifts directly or on trust.

We do not anticipate incurring any disbursements or their being any other charges on a typical will or wills.

Home visit (one off charge) |

We charge an additional £50.00 plus VAT if a home visit is required. This is a single charge and so if several appointments are required there would only be one charge for the home visits. The charge is the same whether it is for a single will or for a couple provided the couple are at the same property for the visits.
How long will it take?
It normally takes up to 2-3 weeks from the first appointment for your will to be signed and completed. This is dictated by your availability and how many times we need to meet with you to take your instructions and finalise the will. Where there is a need to complete the will more quickly this can usually be accommodated.
What work would you be doing for me?
Our team will assist and advise you throughout the process.
The work that we will carry out for you includes:
- Meeting with you to take your instructions;
- Advising you on the various considerations when making a will and which apply to you including any potential tax liability and whether the se of a trust could be appropriate;
- Drafting a will and providing you with a copy to consider;
- Considering any instructions and making any changes before providing you with an amended will and any further advice;
- Upon receiving your agreement to the will, we will prepare a final draft and meet with you to execute it in accordance with the strict legal requirements; and
- Once the will has been executed we will provide you with a copy and offer a free storage facility for the original.
