Michael Vincent

Solicitor and Managing Director

Michael specialises in civil litigation including housing disrepair but accepts instructions in a wide range of matters including wills and probate, residential and commercial property matters and company law. 

Michael has a direct approach to providing legal services and the firm follows that lead. Your time is valuable and we understand that. 

Ensuring clients understand the advice they receive and why it has been given is very important to Michael as it helps you, our clients, be better informed and more comfortable with the decisions you make and the instructions you give.  

Alan Vincent

Solicitor and Director

LLB (Hons) from Leicester University

Alan is a director of the company and practices part time from our Cleveleys office. He primarily assists his existing clients and contacts with wills, lasting powers of attorney and probate. 

Alan has been the senior partner at two other local firms in his career and has specialised in various areas of law including commercial, employment, probate and private client work. 

Courtney Lee Leach

Courtney specialises in Private Client matters including Wills, Lasting Power of Attorneys, Probate and Residential Conveyancing.

Courtney completed her Law Degree LLB (Hons) at Lancaster University in 2018 and then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course and Master of Laws in Legal Practice at The University of Central Lancashire. 

Courtney qualified as a solicitor in 2021, and following this, she worked at a local firm and stayed with the team until joining MJV Solicitors in 2023. 

Rebecca Ferguson

Rebecca joined MJV Solicitors in March 2022 as a Solicitor in the Housing Disrepair Team, running her own caseload.

Rebecca qualified as a solicitor in 2016, and specialises in civil litigation. She has worked for both Claimant and Defendant firms and is experienced in dealing with Housing Disrepair, Personal Injury, Industrial Disease, Holiday Illness and Financial Mis-selling matters. Rebecca has also had experience drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Rebecca has experienced a vast array of civil litigation matters and enjoys dealing with the challenges that come with these claims.

Rebecca prides herself on her ability to provide client’s with clear guidance and advice, with a view to obtaining successful outcomes on their behalf.

Alana Shearer

Paralegal

LLB in Law - University of Central Lancashire

Having graduated from the University of Central Lancashire, Alana joined MJV Solicitors in July 2024 as a Paralegal in the Housing Disrepair Team; assisting fee earners in the progression of claims during the initial stages.

Alana has a strong interest in developing her legal expertise and is keen to start preparing for the SQE as an aspiring solicitor. 

Lanna Conboy

Lanna joined MJV Solicitors in March 2023 as a Paralegal in the Housing Disrepair Department.

She started her training contract in June 2023 and completed seats in civil litigation, dealing primarily with housing disrepair claims, and in the Private Client Department where she assisted with probate, preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Lanna qualified as a solicitor in August 2025 when she became an Assistant Solicitor in the Housing Disrepair Department. She is putting the experience she gained during her training to good use and prides herself on being friendly and approachable. Lanna is committed to building strong client relationships and obtaining the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Ellis Mason

Paralegal

Business and Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship

Ellis started working in a law firm in April 2014 as an apprentice in the personal injury department. Once he had finished his apprenticeship in 2016, he became a paralegal and began running his own caseload, which he continued to do for a further 4 years. 

After 6 years of working in personal injury, he started working at MJV Solicitors in 2020 as a paralegal in the housing disrepair department. 

Ellis is currently undertaking the CILEX professional qualification with aspirations to qualify as an Expert Lawyer.

Layla El-Haroun

Paralegal

LLB (Hons) from University of Liverpool, Awarded First Class Honours
SQE 1 & 2 with Masters from BPP University

Layla joined MJV Solicitors in January 2024 as a Paralegal in the Housing Disrepair New Claims Team.

Layla is currently assisting fee earners in the progression of claims within the Housing Disrepair Team, specialising in Leasehold matters.

Layla uses her legal expertise to assist clients navigating housing disrepair challenges. She adopts a collaborative work style, which includes teamwork, enabling effective communication with clients and colleagues. Layla adopts a sympathetic approach, which allows her to understand her client’s concerns, and provide a legal service with compassion and professionalism. Additionally, her ability to work well under pressure allows her to navigate complex legal situations, resulting in client satisfaction. 

Layla has recently began undertaking the SQE, with an aspiration to qualify as a Solicitor in the coming years. 

Natalie Reason

Residential and Commercial Conveyancer

Natalie has specialised in residential and commercial conveyancing for 7 years. Natalie joined MJV Solicitors in 2021. She prides herself on client care and is highly though of by her clients. 

Tamzin Akponwei

Paralegal

LLB Law - Lancaster University

Tamzin joined the firm in October 2022 and specialises in housing disrepair.

Tamzin brings a strong work ethic, approachability and exceptional organisational skills to every client interaction, whether it is through handling client enquiries or assisting fee earners in the progression of claims. 

Tamzin is committed to ensuring client’s matters are dealt with efficiently and she thrives on making a positive impact. Above all, Tamzin’s work ethic drives her to go the extra mile to meet and exceed expectations.

Tamzin recently completed her SQE 1&2, with a view to qualifying as a Solicitor very shortly.

Adam Fisher

Paralegal

LLB (Hons) from Lancaster University

Having graduated from Lancaster University, Adam joined MJV Solicitors in August 2023 as a Paralegal in the Housing Disrepair New Claims Team.

Adam is currently assisting fee earners in the progression of claims within the Housing Disrepair Team. He is highly organised, direct and shows an empathetic understanding of our client’s situations.

He is looking to develop his skills and knowledge within the legal sector and begin putting them into practice. Within the coming years he hopes to complete the SQE and qualify as a Solicitor. 

Jane Willacey

Conveyancing Assistant

Jane joined our firm in January 2023 as an Administrative Assistant before moving to our Conveyancing Department in June 2024.

She is a Conveyancing Assistant to Natalie Reason and as such takes on a variety of tasks such as corresponding with solicitors, clients and estate agents and processing legal documents.

Jane had previously worked in the equine sports industry before moving to administrative positions within a variety of industries including construction and tourism.

Harneet Kaur Bains

Paralegal

LLB (Hons) from University of Bristol

Having joined the firm in October 2023, Harneet joined the Housing Disrepair Team.

Harneet is currently undertaking the Solicitor Apprenticeship, with a view to qualifying as a Solicitor in 2027.

Harneet enjoys working in the expanding Housing Disrepair Team and is currently assisting fee earners in the progression of claims throughout the litigation process. She finds fulfilment in engaging with clients on a daily basis and is dedicated to achieving successful results.

Ruby Faulkner

Paralegal

Ruby is currently working within the Housing Disrepair Team with a primary focus on bringing new claims for the firm. 

Ruby joined MJV in February 2025 as a paralegal in our housing disrepair team after having worked in the administration field for 3 years. Ruby’s admin experience and strong interest in developing her legal expertise support her work and she would like to continue on in the new claims department.

Hollie Suffolk

Paralegal

Hollie is currently working within the Housing Disrepair Team with a primary focus on bringing new claims for the firm. She is currently studying for her law degree at the Open University.

Hayley Mars

Personal Assistant to the Managing Director

Hayley has expertise in most areas of Law with particular knowledge of Probate, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Housing Disrepair. Also proficient in Legal Accounts.

Hayley always has an extremely good relationship with the Clients she deals with.  This is achieved by being open and honest with them, for the more vulnerable Clients she shows empathy and understanding.  With the more challenging Clients she always shows consideration and patience, has an excellent telephone manner and goes out of her way to ensure that the Clients are always kept updated, and any specific needs are met. 

Gill Waterhouse

Administration Manager

Gill joined MJV Solicitors in 2022 and has undertaken various roles within the firm as she has excellent organisational skills as well as being a great team player.

In her current role as Administration Manager she is at the forefront of future innovations and progression that the Company is striving to achieve.

Gill has been working in law and for solicitors’ firms for over 25 years and is an experienced administrator and manager who often assists on cases as and when required.

Vikki Evans

Cashier

Vikki joined the firm in June 2024, she is an experienced legal cashier who deals with all accounts related matters for both our Blackpool and Cleveleys based offices. 

Vikki has worked in a variety of Solicitors’ offices throughout Blackpool and Preston since leaving school in 2002. Starting as an office junior, hard work and determination over the years has resulted in her running the accounts department.
