Equality & Diversity at MJV Solicitors

Our Commitment to Equality and Inclusion

MJV Solicitors is committed to providing a working environment and legal services that promote equality, diversity and inclusion. We value the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our team and clients, and we aim to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Code of Conduct.

Our 2025 Diversity Data

As part of our regulatory duties, we collected equality and diversity information from our team in 2025 and have submitted the anonymised data to the SRA.

Because we are a small firm, we are not publishing full breakdowns for individual questions — doing so could make it possible to identify individual members of staff. However, we are pleased to share an aggregated summary that reflects the overall diversity of our workforce:

Our team includes solicitors, fee earners, managers and support staff.

The majority of our staff are female, with a smaller proportion being male.

Team members span a range of age groups, with representation from early-career professionals through to those aged 35–44.

Our staff come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, with representation from White British, Asian, Black, Mixed, and Arab heritage.

The majority of staff report no religion or belief, while others identify with faiths such as Christianity and Sikhism.

Most staff identify as heterosexual, with representation from other sexual orientations.

A number of team members are primary carers for children or provide unpaid care for family members with long-term health conditions.

Our staff mostly attended state schools, and many are the first in their family to attend university.

Why We Don’t Publish Individual-Level Data

As a small firm, publishing full data could unintentionally identify individuals (for example, if only one respondent selected a particular characteristic). We have therefore published only aggregated data, in line with SRA guidance for small practices.

Continuing Our Commitment

We are committed to maintaining and improving our approach to equality and diversity through fair recruitment, inclusive policies, and ongoing training.
We will continue to review our data and publish anonymised summaries as required by the SRA.
